Default Power door lock problems 2004 chrysler sebring convertible

Hi my car will not unlock with the button on the inside of car or remote all you get is a click when trying to unlock or lock with the button the click sounds like it is coming from the fuse box on the inside of car any suggestions. I have to hold my key in the door in the unlock position to force open or hold up on the lock and it will open from outside.. it has no problem opening from the inside

The car thinks that the keys are in the ignition and is trying to be helpful by not letting you lock the keys in the car. Gunk has built up inside the keyway and the key detection sensor is depressed (not emotionally.)

Squirt some WD-40 into the ignition keyhole and vigorously move the key in and out wiping the key off every now and then.

Try the keyfob. If it works, you've done it. If not, rinse and repeat.

The little motor (solenoid) that unlocks the door is built in to the latch mechanism itself. You may need to replace that. If you pull the door apart to get in there, check the wiring to make sure you are getting an unlock signal to the latch. Sometimes the wires going into the door from the body break due to flexing as the door opens and closes.
Since your problem involves unlocking, the WD-40-on-the-key trick is not relevant.
