2003 brake light fuse keeps blowing
03 Chrysler sebring lx sedan fuse for brake lights keeps blowing put new brake switch in & sill blowing fuse. Changed light bulbs & still no lights. checked wiring going to lights & they look good. What could be making my fuse to blow. please help can't drive with no brake lights
You will need to check the wiring from the fuse to the bulb. There will be a short somewhere. If there is collision damage, start there. Look at places where the harness passes through sheet metal.
I have looked at wiring from fuse to bulb & it looks good. I've had 2 people that were car mechanic & they can't find short. Now my stereo is messing up A/C control will set 4 cooled then after working 4 awhile will start 2 blow hot my front lights & dash keep dimming every once in awhile. Another thing is it seems to use more fuel. Someone told me the car needs new brain. Y can't cars be like the older ones simple 2 have running & work on?
Y'know, if you prefer the older cars, there's nothing stopping you from going out and buying one. There are lots of them out there: no computers, no fuel injection, no airbags, no antilock brakes, completely mechanical and analog. My granddad's '54 Mercury was a perfect example. 6 volt electrical system and a radio that used vacuum tubes.
In the meantime, you might want to go somewhere that has a DRB III and have them search for error codes. Your body computer might be having issues.

a short to ground will not show any codes The issue when it blows the fuse needs to be present when they look for it our U let them have it and drive it around until the short is touching the ground to which they can find it then .
