Default 2005 Sebring Convertible - Seat Belt warning

The drivers side seat belt does not seem to allow the seat belt light and warning chime to stay off. Although the belt is clicked in and tight, the warning light comes on and off seemingly at will. When it comes on while driving I seem to be able to wiggle the belt or loosen the tension and it goes off for a while, but never stays off.

Anyone have any ideas on resolving this issue??

The sensor that detects whether the belt is buckled is within the belt buckle itself. You'll probably need to replace the buckle. Run the seat all the way back, disconnect the wires and remove the nut that secures the buckle to the adjuster frame.

You can order a replacement part on line from places like chryslerparts.net or you can try your local dealer or you might get lucky at a local junkyard or on eBay.
