Question 2006 2.7L Misfire after sparkplug replacement

So to clear the air on what we have checked... Nothing.

We did a home garage spark plug replacement in this 2006 Sebring 2.7L. Upon starting it up after the change, it is misfiring. The engine is bouncing and we can hear it clearly at the exhaust.

This model has the SOLID coil pack shafts with the rubber nipple and the spring internally at the end of each (within the nipple), so it does not make the traditional "click/snap" sound when contact is made re-inserting the coil packs.

So it is difficult for us to determine if possibly 1 or more of those connections are not being made (end of coil pack to top of spark plug).

We do not have access to a code reader (would be a blessing and yes, in the coming months I will be investing in one).

So, do any of you have some basic physical steps we can try to see if this bugger will start firing correctly again?

We now have placed the original plugs back in, same result. So I guess that eliminates the plug gap from the equation.

Don't wanna sound like a smart@ss, but... Unplugged each coil, unbolted each coil, removed each coil, removed each spark plug, installed new spark plugs, re-assembled in reverse order.

Plain, simple, non-invasive spark plug exchange.

New symptom: The exhaust really (I mean REALLY) stinks now. Smells like rotten eggs being cooked over flattened skunk.

well in that case do u have a check engine light on yet? if so do the key on key off trick to see what the codes are or drive it to advanced auto parts or autozone and get them to put a scanner on i to see what the codes are.
