Hello, does anybody have instructions on how to connect the standard 4-way flat trailer wiring harness to this car. I could not find any instructions on the internet.

thats because you dont tow with cars that are only 2.4L engines any instructions will be with the parts that you acquired.

 

2.4L is more than enough for towing (provided you are not towing a Titanic).

 

You should be able to tease out the wiring by examining the wire colors going to the taillights. All of the needed wires are run along the left side of the trunk and you should be able to splice there.

As a note, the towing capacity of the sebring is 1000 lbs, class 1 hitch. Given the weight of the trailer you are looking at 800 lbs net at best. Note the 800 lbs includes any passengers and junk in the trunk. If you are towing locally, there probably should not be an issue. If you are on the highway, the weight and drag may cause the trans to overheat and drop into 3rd.

 

Thank you, this is a really helpful information. I will be towing on highway, but I was thinking about going at moderate speeds (no more than 55 mph). I was also thinking about switching the transmission to either "L" or "3". Do you think this can help?

 

Don't even think about driving 55 mph in low gear.
