Default 2008 Sebring stalls when driving longer distances but will start again in 2 hours

Hello, my daughters 2008 2.7l Sebring will start up fine and drive but a couple months ago it stalled while driving. She’s driven it daily for months since to school without issues. I’ve taken it in to the shop and they found nothing. When it dies and I try to restart it the crank sound is strange. The crank lasts a couple seconds longer than usual and it sounds a little strange. The battery and engine light come on when this happens. I had to tow it home last time but started fine in 2 hours. The engine and battery light go away when it started. I’ll send any code it might have stored here in a few minutes. I’ve read a bad crank shaft sensor acts like this? The first time this happened my daughter pulled over and was able to restart no problem. The last time it wouldn’t restart for 2 hours but did start fine. This car is used for short trips. The car stalled those 2 times on longer trips of around 45 minutes. I’m thinking crank shaft sensor or TIPM? Thanks so much

Suggest an OEM crankshaft position sensor. I have had auto parts store varieties basically fail out of the box.

If the CEL and battery lamp lit, there will be a stored diagnostic code (previously active and stored for 30-40 restarts or battery disconnect) that may help in the diagnosis.

Also suggest having the battery and charging system tested. Inspect the battery terminals to be certain they are corrosion-free and secure.

The TIPM should be the one of the last suspects.
