Default 2009 Sebring Touring Convertible Indicator Light

In March 2010, I purchased a 2009 Sebring Touring Convertible (8K miles) - the first time I owned a car with under 100K miles! I love it BUT, within the first few months of owning it I noticed that a solid indicator light came on saying "BRAKE". Now, when the E-brake is engaged the "BRAKE" indicator flashes, it is not solid. This indicator is solid and I am 100% sure the E-brake is not in the engaged position. The dealership was more than accommodating in addressing the issue. They provided a free-of-charge rental and performed diagnostics. They could not reproduce the problem but did a "brake service". In the past 6 months the problem has reappeared more frequently. My last call to the service center they said that the solid "BRAKE" indicator was a sign that the brake fluid was low. I can not find this in the manual. Can anyone verify this or has anyone experienced a similar problem.
