2015 Chrysler 200
So my car was working normally as well as the radio a few days ago. I got in to go to an appointment and I noticed the radio was black and would not turn on I also noticed that my phone would not charge when the charger was plugged in. I tried doing a reset on the radio and it’s still black the AC works and everything it’s just the radio but I think there might be a wire loose or something and I was wondering how much it would cost or if it would cost anything to have it looked at
It will cost, even to have it looked at. Car repair always costs. How much? That depends on where you are and who you see. Dealerships are usually the most expensive and even their cost varies by geographic location.
Before you start spending lots of money, pull out your owners manual and look up the part about replacing fuses. See if you can find in there a description about which fuse does what and look for the fuses that cover the radio. There may be more than one. Then check those fuses and see if one is blown. If so, replace it (you can buy replacement fuses at any auto parts store) with one of the same rating. If that one also blows then you will need to get some professional servicing. The problem may be with the wiring or it may be with the radio itself. Explore all options. Very few places will repair a radio, Most times it's cheaper to just replace it. Buying an exact replacement from the dealer is the most expensive option. Aftermarket substitutes might work out to be better. Getting a replacement from a junkyard might work out for you.
