Default #8 Fuse under hood keeps blowing(04 Sebring)

I got a 04 Sebring 2.7l v6. For some reason the #8 fuse keeps blowing for the Starter/Fuel 20amp fuse. At first i thought it was the ignition switch since it didn't want to turn over at all when i turned the key so i changed the Ignition switch. After changing that it still didnt work so after some research i checked the #8 fuse and it was blown, replaced it and the car started right up, after i tried to start it again the fuse blew again, changed it again and it started the 1st time, but the 2nd time it blew again. Ground cables all look good. Could it be the starter relay thats bad? Or possibly the ignition cylinder/tumbler, i notice when i put the key in you have to kinda jiggle it around to get in in the on position or would that not matter as long as the actual switch is good? Thanks.

Sounds more like a shorting wire to the starter solenoid(the small wire) rubbing thru it's insulation and contacting metal causing this to happen.

So it looks like that wire is pretty tough to see without taking a bunch of stuff off, or at least from what i looked at. Anyways i took off some ground wires and cleaned them, the one to the battery had some corrosion on it. and the harness bolt on the i believe it is the transmission solenoid from what i seen online felt like it was loose so i tightened that. I drove it around most of yesterday and went a few places today and it has been starting up right away without that fuse blowing. Maybe it was just dirty grounds but i wouldn't say im out of the woods yet, i wanna drive it for a while longer. Also i did pick up the Starter Relay so if the fuse does blow again i will change that next. If all else fails i guess i will be changing the starter.

Classic symptom of a failing starter, #8 fuse blowing. Have encountered this on a '97 Sebring, '04 Sebring and '06 Sebring. New starter resolved the issue every time.

Suggest replacing with a new starter as I have been disappointed in the quality of rebuilds in the last 10 years. Yes, the rebuild may be under warranty but I do not like replacing a starter within a year. Note the starter may be under warranty but that rarely includes labor. A local shop near me will only replace with new because of too many comebacks with rebuilds.
