Default 99 Sebring Convertible Security System

Anytime I lock my car, the security system starts going off after about 5 minutes. Is therea fuse to the security system that can be removed or does the whole system have to be disabled?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Default RE: 99 Sebring Convertible Security System

You might want to explore the two door switches. These have a tendency to corrode and cause odd bells to ring, lock solenoids to actuate at unusual times, weird messages on the instrument cluster among other things.

They are on each rear door jamb under or near the latch. They are not real expensive I think.
