Default AC not working...'01 Sebring Limited 2.7

AC is blowing air...Not hot, not cold, just air...Like a fan in your house would. I do notice that when I start the car, at anytime of day, I get a loud belt squeal for maybe 5 - 10 seconds. I also noticed I get the belt squeal when I operate the top. Refrigerant is full. I'm not sure if the clutch is spinning. This car just had the engine replaced. I am hoping that they forgot to plug the compressor in. I read somewhere on-line that it may be the BCM. I'll have to get a scanner and see if I can I pull any codes off it.

u will just need to look and see if the clutch is spinning or not

the BCM does not control the outside compressor only the inside doors.

OK...Today I jacked the car up and my clutch is spinning when I turn the AC on. The belt squeal was intermittent today, sometimes it would, sometimes it would not. Mechanic stopped by felt my hoses/lines ( I liked it and I didn't have to take her to dinner...Ba Doom ) They weren't hot, nor cold, said I need to evacuate the system, recharge and I will be fine. Then, someone else said that my compressor is going bad. How do I know which is correct?

AC is fixed...The system had too much freon causing the compressor to shut down. pulled some of it out...BINGO...Nice cold air...60 degree cold air today...Thank you for your assistance and answers.
