I have a 2012 Chrysler 200 LX, a while back it began making a squeaking sound, similar to when your brake pads are worn. Only it only made it when the brakes weren’t engaged. After about a month of that, I took a VERY short trip, and my car got to where it had a little trouble stopping, and it started to sound like it was grinding horribly. And the best way I can describe the next part was it acted like you were pushing the gas and brake together, no surging or anything funny in the engine. Just grinding and great difficulty for the breaks to hold it. Last peculiar thing one wheel (Rear Drivers) got much hotter than the others when I pulled over and decided to tow it, it’s also the only wheel which has a weird burnt rusty colored dust burnt onto the wheel. Anyone have any clues on this???

 

Check the parking brake cable and mechanism. It's probably stuck and not releasing the parking brake on that side.
