Default car stalls under 500rpm 2000 sebring 2.5l

stalls out as im turning or at a stop sign. runs fine otherwise. 116,000 miles have not had a tune up. my mechanic says its expensive around $600 any thoughts or tips would be great. I just put a fuel system cleaner in the tank.

Check the idle air control motor. It's a device, controlled by the computer, that is supposed to let in a little extra air at idle to keep the car from stalling when the air contitioner or power steering loads increase.
