Angry Chrysler Sebring 2006 Electrical problems

I have a 2006 Sebring and I would start the car and at first I noticed that the radio/clock would not come on all the time...I might drive a little and it would all of a sudden come on but the next time did not....It seems to be getting worse and comes on less now...I then noticed that the turn signals, power locks, wipers and whatever else would not work when the radio failed to come on....I then would start the car and move the key any which way and if I hit the right spot the radio/clock would come on and the turn signals, wipers and power locks would then work...My assumption is that the key cylinder lock is going bad....I am looking for verification of my thoughts and for any quick directions on how to replace the cylinder lock... I am planning to buy one which has new keys if that matters....Thanks much for your thoughts

To my knowledge, the cylinder and keys are sold separately from the switch itself. What you need is the switch, not the cylinder and keys.

When buying parts for your Sebring, be sure to specify whether it's a coupe (a totally different vehicle) or a Sedan or a convertible.

I doubt you'll find this part anywhere other than a dealership or a junkyard. Spend some quality time with the guy at the parts counter at your local dealership. His parts diagrams may help you understand how this thing goes together.

Pete-

I have the same problem with my 2006 Sebring Convertible (17k miles). AAA just came out and started wiggling the turn signal arm and the radio came back along with the wipers. Had a crackling sound too. AAA thoought there was a short in the wiring in the steering wheel column and suggested I check it out. Said nothing about lock.
Please let me know if you are successful.
