Default Dead Spot around 1,200 RPM's

I am hoping someone might can point us in the right direction. We have a 1996 Sebring LX that just recently started hesitating around 1,200 RPM's. It idles fine and has no codes. Anytime you take off or are driving at a constant speed and the RPM's drop to 1,200 you can feel the hesitation. Doesn't matter if the air is on or off. We did put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in it and it seemed to get better but only for a few minutes. My husband was going to start with changing the fuel filter but seems like if that was it, it would hesitate or miss more than what it does. Just wondered if anyone was familiar with this before we start throwing parts at it. Thanks, Penny

The absence of codes tends to point to a fuel problem less than an ignition problem. It sounds like the car will start and run at low RPM just fine but when the demand for fuel increases, so do the problems. This could point to a weak fuel supply, caused by either a failing fuel pump or a clogged fuel filter. Could also be caused by a pinched fuel line, but that should be easily ruled out via an inspection.
If you don't want to spend money on parts until you're sure they are necessary, run a pressure check on the fuel line. Low pressure points to the fuel pump. The pressure can be good even if the filter is clogged. A clogged filter will reduce the flow, but the pressure may still be good when there's no flow.

Check the fuel filter and injectors. Also, check the spark plugs.

He changed the plugs and wires, distributor and rotor and fuel filter. I searched around on an eclipse forum and some had good results with changing the crankshaft sensor but we really aren't trying to keep replacing $60 parts just guessing. It idles fine and only does the hesitation once it's warmed up. Could a bad fuel cap do this? It let off a lot of pressure when he took it off the other day? We are frustrated. It's our daughters car and she's borrowing our truck till its fixed. Thanks.

Did you check the fuel pressure?
