Ok just got back from a qualified machine shop, heads are OK. No warp, valves are OK too . I checked the block as TNtech advised. It is OK too .

I cleaned the heads with solvent and pressurised air. Now waiting for Head gaskets from dealer.

Old gaskets were not blown, but there were traces of minor combustion leak from cylinder 2 to cylinder 4 and leak from cylinder 4 to water jacket.

I appreciate any idea that helps me identify the real problem behind this leak.

 

What material were the head gaskets you removed made of?

 

they seem to be couple of aluminum layers with black coating.

 

well, i have a problem with tensioner, i pushed trying to purge oil and reset but it never comes back to normal .. should be replaced?

 

It won't come back out until there's oil pressure pushing it out, meaning the engine must be running. Be prepared for quite a bit of valve train noise when you first start the engine. It should quiet down after a few seconds.

 

Just got my engine assembled. it is running a little rough. possible that timing chain jumped one step ?

I checked for vacuum leak and tested with OBD and nothing came up.

 

when, u replace the head gasket, do you need to adjust the tappets with a feeler gauge or any thing special needs to be done to reassemble head?

I've got a 2001 Convertible with 125,000 miles. Have had no problems and it has been running great however I checked the oil a few days ago and found it to be milky. Should I consider head gaskets or replacing the engine? I could do the engine swap myself but the head gasket job I would have to pay someone to do.

 

Probably have a bad water pump leaking coolant into the crankcase. Either fix it quick or count on replacing the whole engine.

 

Well I have not driven it at all but not being much of a mechanic that would be great news if its just the water pump. I really appreciate the answer. Wish you lived near Cincinnati I would pay you to do it!
