Default Need help on what to do, desperately!!!!

Bought a 2004 Sebring conv 2.7l with dead engine. Replaced engine and now getting "stuttering" at 2700 rpm and really can't get car above that. Took to dealership and they diagnosed

150251 CHECKED WITH SCAN TOOL AND FOUND CODES P0340 NO CAM SIGNAL
AT PCM & P1494 LEAK DETECTION. PUMP SWITCH OR MECHANICL FAULT. FOUND CAR
WOULDS START BUT HAD LONG CRANK TIME. CHECKED WITH SCAN TOOL AND SHOWED
NO SIGNAL FROM CAN1SENSOR WHEN CRANKING. FOUND THERE WAS A NEW CAM
SENSOR INSTALLED,-MET WITH CUSTOMER AND WAS INFORMED HE HAD REPLACED
CAM SENSOR & CRANK SENSOR. HAD RECENTLY BOUGHT FROM A THIRD PARTY AND
AT ONE TIME THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED. FOUND THE CAM SIGNAL WIRE WAS
CUT AT. THE CAM SENSOR CONCNTEOR, WHEN JUMPERED BACK TOGETHER CAR WILL
NOT START, WHEN DISCONNECTED THE CAR STARTS AFTER A LONG CRANK. BELEIVE
THE TONE'WHEEL OF THE CAMCHAFT IS INCCORECT FOR THIS SBEC CONTROL,
ENGINE MOST LIKLEY FROM A NGC3 CONTROLED CAR.

So my question is, I think, do we replace the tone wheel or the controller? Assume I can pick up a NGC3 controller. Would really appreciate any help...

ok, here's where things get sketchy for me, figuring out the correct tone wheel. I believe the ECU on these is on drivers side of engine. If that is correct the numbers on it are:

04745860
64490
23

Is there a way to figure out the correct tone wheel based on those?

Thanks for the reply.

Except the existing vin won't work since we swapped out the motor for the one with the different controller. Tried and all I received was the text I posted above and a shrug of the shoulders.

the engine u put in has to have stuff to match the items in the car u are putting it in understand? The vin for the CAR will tell u what stuff is needed then u get it and install it to the new engine u have. U can not change the computer to match the engine the connectors are different

AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!! Not directed at you just at my local mechanics. Mechanic who did the engine wap swears he swapped out the tone wheel and cam sprocket when he did the engine swap. States something about because he did water pump at same time. Anything else you can think of if he did swap out?

Yes, but did he swap out the flexplate too? They are also different. If he used the used engine flexplate....he's gonna be takin' that sucker back out!!

I'm surprised these things don't require a specific dipstick....

Sounds like you might need a new local mechanic.... hope he's not a friend.
