Default No power to the Cigarette/Power outlet

Hello,

My power outlet assembly fell apart inside the dash after using and MP3 player for a couple of years. It just slowly untwisted apart. I reassembled it and discovered I had no power to it. I check and recheck the fuses all were good. I went to my Chrysler dealer then ran through the same loops, check the assembly and checked the fuses. No power. They pretty much gave up. The only remaining option/theory is something is wrong with the wiring (which sounds impossible)? How can that even be? Does anyone have any theories, alternative solution, something I'm missing? Can a fuse go bad and you can't actually see the damage? I just think it's silly I can't get it to work.

Thanks,
Tom
