Default No power to TIPM

Should there be power to the big red power wire coming into the TIPM all the time on a 2008 Chrysler Sebring? Where does the TIPM get its power from? I have no power to the TIPM and no power to anything on the car.

The power to the TIPM comes directly from the battery and should always have 12+ volts. If there is no power to the TIPM, nothing will work. There is a second red cable that comes from the battery and connects to the positive jump point on driver side strut tower which runs to the starter. Verify there is 12 volts at the jump point.

Note the black cable from the battery runs to a stud also on the driver strut tower. Verify this connection is corrosion-free and secure. If all the engine compartment connections are clean and secure the issue is either the battery is dead or the cable(s) at the battery are corroded or loose.

The battery is forward of the left front tire. It can be accessed without removing the tire but I find it easier to remove the tire for the extra room.
