Default no start, no spark - 98 2.5 convertible

My sister's car won't start. It ran fine when she parked it, wouldn't start in the morning.
Cranks great, but no fire at all.

Starter, battery, fuses good.
She said the "Service Engine Soon" light was on for a couple weeks. It is not on now, and no codes were found with an OBDII scanner. I think they got erased when I had the battery disconnected.

There is fuel at the rail, don't know if injectors are trying to fire. They are not clogged.
There is no spark at the plugs.

Now has new plugs, wires, cap and rotor since it took so long to get at everything in the first place.
Still no spark. Still no start. Still no codes.

What's wrong? Something with the ASD? How do I check it?
Thanks in advance!

why did u disconnect the battery?? U put new plugs in on a 2.5??? u could have done something there as well on top of what ever was wrong the first time. The best guess i can do for a with out looking at it myself would be the distrubitor assembly, that is an expensive part 900 or more. Now on the other hand it can also be the alarm system shutting off spark as well. IF u give me the vin via private message I will run it on chrysler and see if it has one from the factory but i cant tell u if there is an aftermarket one.

I disconnected the battery ground cable as a general precaution before taking stuff apart, after initial troubleshooting.
It has the exact same symptoms now as it did before I touched it.

How do I check if the alarm system is at fault? The horn honked once when the battery was reconnected.

but u never did check and see what the codes were did ya??? big clue now lost because of that.
Do u have a gray key??? when u tried and start it when u messed with it the first time did it run for 4 seconds then die 3 times???
U cant check the alarm has a code u dont have the right scanner u only have one for generic engine codes the dealer will haft to check that out for ya. Do u have a little blinking red dot on the insterment cluster? if u do thats the alarm light and from there u will be out of luck with out a dealer scanner.

Didn't check codes - no scanner at the time. Since reconnecting the battery, it hasn't thrown any codes yet after many attempts to start.
It has not run, or even fired, since it was parked. Never started and died.
She says it has an alarm, but she has never activated it. ??? No gray key.

then the alarm is more then likely active and u wont get any codes because the car has not run to allow any codes to be set. Use the key in both door locks and unlock them manualy.
that should turn off the alarm check from there.
