Oil Filter Location for 2007 Sebring ?
My daughter purchased a pre-owned 2007 Sebring sedan (with the 2.4 litre 4-cylinder engine)yesterday at a local Chryslerdealership here in central North Carolina. I've only seen the car for perhaps15 minutes thus far but itappears to have beenwell-maintained and currently has about 20,800 miles on the odometer. My daughterhas asked me to perform the ongoingroutinemaintainence on this vehicle as I have done forall of her cars over the years, and I have a few questions for you do-it-yourself Sebring owners:
1. Where is the oil filter located and how is it accessed?
2. Required spark plugs are listed as "ZFR5F-11" on theinformation stickerunder the hood. Are these NGK spark plugs? I have a 1999 Dodge Ram and a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that both require Champion spark plugs, but "ZFR5F-11" looks to me more like an NGK number.
3. Recommended oil is SAE 5W-20.Most of the vehicles we've hadover the past 5 or 6 years call for 5W-30. Why does this Sebring need5W-20?
4. What can she expect for typical gas mileage running regular 87 octane? She's more of a "spirited" driver as opposed to an "average" driver, but let's face it, this 2.4 litre I-4 is not going to be a performance vehicle.
5. The dealership equipped this vehicle with new Firestone FR690 tires in size P215/65/R16. I see thatowners of these tires really complain about how lousy they are in wet weather and snow on the tirerack.com website.Almost all owners say that they would not buy these tires again. So what tires are you Sebring owners most happy with? I'm looking for excellent wet weather traction as well as long treadlife in an all-season tire, and I don't want to have to pay a fortune to get them.
6. Are there any tipson known weaknesses to watch out foror Technical Service Bulletins for this vehicle? In doing some on-line research last night throught the Kelley Blue Book website,a number ofSebringowners apparently aren't veryhappy with the comfort level of their seats after they've owned the car for a year or so.
This car appears to provide good value for the money and I hope that it will be relatively easy and inexpensive to maintain over the next 4 or5 years. I look forward to being an active participant on this site as I learn more about the Sebring. Thanks for any pertinentinformation you Sebringowners can provide.
