Take the sucker back and yell at them. Prolly just got a bad radio. It's pretty cheap to replace the radio with a better aftermarket one.

could be wiring, everyone forgets that if you have a bad ground or a wire breaks inside somewhere, guess what, not gonna work. chances are if it just all of a sudden happened, its a connection somewhere that came loose from hitting a bump or something like that.

they dont have gounds like older radios they ground through the CD changer on the JR body so if the radio goes out via bad ground the cd changer will as well. The radio would more then likely have an internal defect.

does his car have a cd changer? didnt say anything about that. he just said the radio went out all of a sudden. and all radios use wires which can and do break occasionally or a connection can go bad. just because it goes out doesnt mean it can only be a bad radio.

not a chrysler tech no, just a normal everyday technician that normally works on chevys and fords. if i was wrong to try to give him some simple suggestions (check wiring and connections) then im sorry, but i thought this forum was to try to helppeople in the way you know how to. I dont have his car to check it, so i offered some starting points before concluding that the radio is in fact, shot.
