Default Sebring Advice Needed

After much soul searching I am looking at the Sebring as my first car.

I will most likely be going after the 95-97 model and need all the advice I can get.
I cant spend too much on my first car and am anticipating to pay around the $2000 price ,

I'm looking for a comfortable economic car which will not drive me in to bankruptcy on maintenance.
Every car has its short comings, and specifics to avoid, what are they ?
I'm also looking for general advise about the Sebring , the good , the bad , and the ugly.

Your comments are very much appreciated!

all of them have there issues a 2.5 is a mitsu and parts willcost more. a 2.0 is the same as a neon and head gaskets leak. a 2.4 is the same as a 2.0

if you have a job maybe see if your parents or someone could cosign for like an 01 or something with the 3.0. You can find one in the 5-6k range and your payments would only bee like 120-150 a month if you could swing that. You kinda get what you pay for. You buy a 2k dollar car you get problems. Ive learned the hard way.
