Default Strut Spring Isolator/bushings disintegrating??

I have a 2005 Sebring convertible Touring with the 2.7 engine. Both the front and rear strut rubber spring isolators/bushings are totally disintegrating. They are flaking off to a light touch - see photo. Has any other owner seen this happen?

Where can I buy new strut spring isolators? Also, how do I replace the bushings? Do I have to replace by unbolting the struts and compressing them from below and then replacing them? Is there any other easier way to replace them?

Thanks very much for any help.

Glenn

Is this the correct Mopar Spring Isolator part (4764505AA) FOR a 2005 Sebring convertible? I assume it is, but it does not list it specifically. Does the strut have to be completely removed to replace the isolator or just compressed?

Thanks,

Glenn

That's the correct part. If you enter your vehicle into the space on the right it verifies it. I replaced the struts on my Sebring several years ago and the part looked like that. I'm surprised you can still get the part after all these years.

Yes, you must remove the entire strut and compress the spring to replace that part. You might as well replace the shocks and the lower spring seat at the same time because of the labor involved. While you're fooling around in there, have a good look at the ball joints as well.
