Unhappy Sub-frame broke!

I have 2004 Sebring, bought it (2nd hand) three months ago and all on a sudden the sub-frame broke yesterday! The mechanic said there is no other option left, it has to be replaced. Does the manufacturer/dealer usually provide any assistance in such cases, a friend of mine told that they give lifetime warranty for sub-frames and chassis! Should I contact the dealer?

What can I do now? Really in big trouble!

No harm in asking the dealer but don't get your hopes up too high. That car is way off warranty.
