Default tranny filter change 04 Sebring

I went to get a filter for my o4 Sebring sedan 4 cyl auto tranny and the guy at the parts store told me it was special order item only and that you had to disassemble the tranny to change the filter and really was not owner serviceable. Is this true or was he just jerking me around. I haven't bought a shop manual for this yet. but this sounds a little fishey.

It's nothing.... Anybody could do it on the floor in about a half hour or less. Some of the air dam behind the bumper gets in the way, I just trimmed it a little to make it easier next time to get to the pan bolts. Don't forget to wipe the sludge out of the pan and off the magnet. I used the gasket provided and just put in 4 bolts on the corners to hold it in place while re-positioning the pan to the tranny.
So in other words... same as always.
