windows auto down, but not auto up

08 convertible here, and my windows auto-down just fine, but they won't auto-up. I thought I read online to hold the windows in the up position to get them to reset and do the auto-up, but it's not working for me.

is there a way to accomplish this? or instructions to do so? maybe I was reading the wrong instructions...

Are you referring to the windows motoring up after the top is closed? You need to to hold the top closed a bit longer and the windows will motor up while you hold the top closed button.

Outside of holding the top closed button, I am not aware of any other window auto-up feature.

no, that works just fine. I'm just referring to rolling the windows down normally. they go down auto if you push all the way down. but when you pull all the way up to bring them up, they don't come up automatically. but it feels like there is an extra "step" when pulling up as if the auto-up functionality is there but not working.

When all else fails, try reading the owners manual. Not entirely sure about that model year but I doubt that "auto up" was a feature then.

that's what I was wondering, but there is definitely an "auto up" extra click to the switches. like, you can pull up on them in the normal setting (middle) and they go up, but you can pull up more and it will *click* past the middle setting the way it does when you put them down. that's why I asked.

Having read through this thread, I believe that the extra "step" that you feel could be the switch position used when the windows motor up after the top has been completely closed

If you don't have the owners manual, download it from chrysler.com.

I have the same problem but my back passenger window won't go up with switch but will go up with convertible operatik. Switch..just started..any idea?

It could be the switch itself, but the more likely culprit is the wiring harness where it goes between the body and the door. With the flexing that happens every time the door is opened and closed, you can get a broken wire right there. Might want to check that out.
