Default Wont start just a whinning noise

The car had no issues till a few months ago...I over corrected myself and wrecked the car...Actually right at the house it was still running had it pulled out and was driving it home when it quit...When i turn the key it just makes a whinning noise with never starting...Could the car jump time or is it something deeper than that..

Welcome to this Forum! But the way you "posted in", like many NEW members, leaves a LOT TO BE DESIRED in order to answer your question! What YEAR and ENGINE and BODY STYLE do you have?????

That's a lot more helpful, thank you!
A timing belt driven motor, at 16 years old and a sudden impact(of sorts). IF you are getting a rapid spin of the motor from the starter with what seems like little compression of normal starting, then I would be concerned about a snapped (broken) timing belt. It's been a LONG time since I had a 3.0 to remember if they were an interference valve train motor or not. IF so, then you're looking at major work with valvetrain beyond just doing a replacement timing belt.
