Default 2012 300.... speakers do not work; my mech says it might be a service bulletin

Hi all

I have my Dad's 300, and the radio turns on and operates normally, but there is no sound from any of the speakers. My mechanic says to check if there is a service bulletin, so I looked on the net and came up with this:

2012 Chrysler 300 TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins) | ChryslerProblems.com

Second one from the bottom is for "ELECTRICAL:RADIO/TAPE DECK/CD ETC", but I see nothing for speakers. Any idea if this deals with the speaker issue? Should I just go to the dealer and have them look into it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi riffwraith,

Your dealership will be best able to identify if there is a TSB related to your concern and offer further assistance. Please let me know if you'd like me to follow up with your service advisor during your appointment!

Hello, and ty.

There is no TSB, and the dealer wanted $120 just to tell me what the problem is. Are they nuts?

Took it to a car stereo place, and the guy tightened a connection. No charge.

Default sorry Missed that part.

Do you know what connections he tightened, mine is a MYGIG 730N and everything seems to work properly but just no sound . Weird part is I get no sound from AM FM SAT CD HDD Jukebox but navigation works and I can hear the voice promts, also the Aux wirkss when I have a phone plugged in.

Dodge wants 140 CND to diagnose it, the thing is she said if it is just a software issue they could reinstall the update, but my CD drive does not read disks.

She said that on my 2008 Charger on the same LX platform as the Chrysler 300 that they could update the software using the scan tool through usb.

Does anyone know if this is correct.

Now boys, don't be so quick to bad mouth "Chrysler Cares". They don't have to be on this site and others like it offering their help and services. They have suppliers to pay and payrolls to meet and like it or not they have to cover costs and make a profit. Sad to say that Chrysler profit is mighty slim these days and I want them to be around for a long time.

Think about the above and I think you want em to stay around too. It may interest you to know that many auto dealerships don't make much money on new car sales and rely on "service" to make a go of it all.

Lastly, "Chrysler Cares" has been a great help to members of this Forum and a strong supporter for a long long time. Show a little respect and no I do not work for Chrysler in any way, shape or form. LOL

Default Was not bad mouth.

I loved my car before these problems started happening. I just want to know if it is worth it to pay the diagnosis fee. Since I was told that if they do the diagnosis and find out all it needs is an update then the price will be the same but if the radio is bad it is going to cost 1500 plus labour. So I was just wondering if anyone know if the radio on 2008 charger can be updated through the usb with a scan tool since my disc drive is not working.
