Add Auto-Dimming Rear View Mirror to 300 Touring
Hello,
I have a 2007 Chrysler 300 Touring Sedan and would like to add an auto-dimming rear view mirror - either OEM or after market (ie: Gentex - GENK45A which would give me homelink and a compass)
1. Is the wiring harness already present under the headliner, near the overhead console, on the2007Touring model, or will I need to run a dedicated wiring harness?
2. Does anyone have experience with the Gentex products, are they quality mirrors and relatively easy to install for a mechanicaly inclined individual?

I will add my .02 cents. I am pretty sure this will not be the case with your application (300 model), but I have the auto dimming mirror in a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country ... that also has the deep tinted privacy glass. With dark glass, the auto dimming feature is basically cancelled out. I can see the power is on for the mirror and I have never seen it working ... probably because of the deep tinted glass.
Just something to consider about your expectations if you have tinted glass, etc.
I see these units ALL THE TIME at the local junkyards on wrecked cars ... FYI.
