i have a 300 sport 2014. it has an electronic small gear shift on the console . When starting the car and i put the car into drive. It shows the shifter go to drive but on its own it goes back to park. sometimes it takes 5 tries to stay in drive. had it towed to the dealer but of coarse when its there it works properly. Any ideas out there to what this is?

 

Have you had the recall update done to the car? It re-programs the shifter to automatically switch to park if the door is open. Hope it is still under warranty!

 

The dealer said all the updates are up to date.

does anyone know if a shifter with a hemi engine is different than the shifter with the 3.6 engine on the 300 series. im looking at trading it in for a 2016 300. just wonder if the 2016 has that same shifter as the 2014.
