Default Snow tires 2 or 4?

I have a 2006 300C and live in West Michigan. I have never driven this car thru a winter yet and am wondering if I would really need 4 snow tires. I grew up in Pennsylvania many years ago and only ran 2 snow tires with no problem. I am currently looking at Cooper Weathermaster, has anyone used these tires? Thanks.

Default RE: Snow tires 2 or 4?

While most people think that only two winter tires are required on the front or back, depending which is the power end, the best situation is all four wheels are the same. The main reason is to prevent unpredictable behaviour by ensuring that all wheels have the same grip and response. The worst situation is that the rear axle has summer tires - this may cause the rear to fish tail under even minimum slippery conditions. All four tires will also give you best braking distance in the snow or ice conditions.
