Default Air Conditioning Problem

New to forum, just want to say hi to everyone first and foremost. Now to my problem, I have a 2007 with 13717 miles and my air conditioning is cutting in and out. Took it to dealership a couple days ago and just got it back. They tested the temp when the air conditioning running and it read 48 degrees. Well i'm not saying it's not cold when it's actually running but when it shuts off it feels as if just the fans are blowing. So I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. Or maybe what i can tell the techs differently so that they understand what is wrong. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the compresser is "freezing up". No pun intended. The clutch on the compresser may get stuck.

My 07 is working just fine, but, there is a TSB (24-003-07) out there for the electronic AC control with the temp sensor (you do not mention if you have this control or not, so, this may not apply). If you lower the temp setting in auto mode, but, the air output remains warm, this TSB would apply. might be worth checking into.

1st, DO NOT take your Aspen back to that service department. If they could not uncover and fix your AC i wouldn;t trust them with my vehicle. If you have the electronicly controlled AC your problem is most likely the interior temp sensor located in the upper console. My sensor went out and my AC would not blow from the vents even though the fan was blowing on high. Also the rear temp was so far off I would have to set the rear to 65 before cold air would blow in the rear.
