Default 2001 Voyager air conditioning problem

Anyone got any ideas about the climate control system on the Voyager.

The aircon seems to work intermittently, if I turn it on the switch lights up as normal but the air still blows warm, sometimes the air is freezing cold when its switched off and the system sounds like it is working.
I had the system refilled a month ago and there doesnt appear to be any leaks. I replaced the compressor clutch relay and the fuse is good.

At idle if you switch the air con on it doesnt sound like the clutch has engaged. The pipes on the compressor inlet and outlet are both very hot.

Please help !!!!!

Many thanks
