Default Back up assist question

Hey guys, while driving in to work yesterday in a Snowstorm I got a "service rear park assist" (note) on the Overhead display. After getting to work I noticed that the rear bumper was absolutley covered with snow. I brushed this off and on the return trip home I had no (notes) on the display. This is my first vehicle with this system, and I guess this is a "normal" alarm when the snow covers the "buttons" on the bumper up, right?
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Yes, snow/ice and even a really dirty bumper will trigger that message. You'll see the same question pop up from time to time on Jeep and Dodge forums as well.
