Default Best Way To Boost HP For 4.7L V8

Before I posted in the Durango forum, wanted to post here, since I have a 2007 Aspen.
Looking into ways to boost the HP of this small V8, to help when I begin towing.

Maybe a Cold Air Intake. I already have a K&N high flow filter on the stock intake.

I was thinking of getting a PCM plug-in controller, to modify the engine parameters for added power, using the unit's pre-programmed options for the engine.

Don't want to go the extreme of adding a turbo or supercharger.

I am not sure you will get much from a CAI. My understanding is the set up is already pretty decent, so a high flow filter is all you need. A chip or plug-in controller would be the only thing I could think of that would really give you what you're looking for.
