Possibly purchasing an aspen
My wife resently totaled her durango and now we are shopping for a new SUV. We found an aspen that she likes. We will be test driving it this week and I'm wondering what we should look for. It's an 08 with 120k miles and the 5.7. Thanks for any input.

Look for rust at the bottom of the door seams on the inside edges. If it's 4wd, switch it and make sure it goes into lock and 4lo without issues. Turn on the front and rear a/c, make sure it will easily switch from cool to hot and from front vents to floor, etc. Look for signs of previous/current water leaks on the headliner and on footwell carpet.
The vehicle should've just had spark plugs replaced (every 30k miles) -- you might want to ask about that, as well as transmission fluid, etc.
That's a lot of miles -- I assume you're getting a great deal to make it worthwhile.

I have just shy of 95000 on my 07 Aspen. I love the 5.7 multi displacement. If you stay out of it, it gets good mileage for a vehicle of its size. I managed to get 22.4 the other day. And the power is there when you need it. I drove a brand new Audi SUV and it did not compare to my hemi. Not bad for three rows of seats. The only problem I have is plastic around the passenger seat belt cracked. Dealer says I need a whole new seatbelt at $400 + dollars for the repair. The leather steering wheel also gets worn easily. I am looking for some input on how or where to repair it.
