I was considering purchasing an automatic climate control to replaced my manual climate control is it just a controller that handles everything Or will key components be missing for it to work?

 

Switching from manual to auto is not just a simple swap. I've been wanting to do this myself. I've even purchased a used auto controller on eBay. First thing to note is that the wire harnesses are different between the two. I've also been told that the resistor packs as well as a few other components are different. I haven't been able to figure out what all is different or needed to make the swap, but I can say it is not just plug and play.

 

In previous other vehicles I always wondered what needed to be change to update HVAC. I just got a 07 Aspen with manual HVAC so I am subscribing to this to see what you find out.
