Default Ipod Interface??

Hello, I was wondering if I need to purchase the ipod interface for my 2008 Aspen. I have all the features on mine...i.e. Nav, DvD player etc.
I am just unsure how to get my ipod to work. Do i need to purchase the interface kit?
So far I just downloaded my itunes to cd's and then transferred them to my car. But what a pain in the a..Plus it doesn't show the names of the songs.
Advice anyone??
Also my nav has a plug, but if the ipod does plug into it, what type of cord do you need?
Thanks so much

Hi I just read your post and I am searching for the same info. Did you ever figure out how to do this? I have tried plugging my ipod into the usb port on the system but that only downloads the files. I was thinking maybe it neede to be plugged into the round aux. port but like you I dont knoew if that will work or where to buy the cord. If you have the answer please let me know.

I found the cable at BB, but you can probably find it at wallyworld also. It looks like a headphone to headphone jack. And then you use the Aux button on the head unit.
