Can someone elaborate on what exactly " tip start " is?

When you turn the key to start the vehicle, you don't have to hold it in the start position to start it, you can turn the key to the start position and let go. I think it's part of the Damlier coming out in the Damlier/Chrysler. Mercedes has this option.
