So I decided to go with Bilsteins and I am very happy with them. They are firmer than stock and not harsh at all. I find them even more comfortable than stock. When we replaced the shocks, te rear passenger side ws shot and I have only 2500o miles on the truck.

That's weird... that's the same shock that was completely wasted on mine too. When I got it off the truck, I compressed it, there was absolutely no resistance, and it stayed compressed when I let off. I guess it lost its pressure a while back.

Would they be covered under B2B warranty? I'm still well within mine. We just got back from a trip, and mine appear toast after 16k miles. I may just wait for Monroe's next Buy 3 get 1 sale. However, if the dealer would replace them for free, that would be nice.

Generally shocks... like brakes and other wear items... are not covered under warranty. It's real tough to convince a dealer or manufacturer that they failed prematurely.

OK, I changed all four of my shocks two weeks ago to the bilstien. What a difference... Towed a 6K lb boat 300 miles the first weekend and then ran 600 miles without it this weekend and just an amazing difference. Much better than original. Now I think I have a torsion bar on the front driver side that needs to be ajusted but that is for a different thread. Thanks to everyone who recommended the change, I was on the fence and I have never had to (or knew I needed to) replace shocks on other vehicles I have had.

My shocks are worn out also. I told my wife about it and she seems to think that is how the Aspen's ride is suppose to be. I told her and knew differently. It may be a while before I can convince her to let me change them out, but when I do want a somewhat stiffer ride.

I just ordered a pair of the Monroe reflex from rock auto for $38 a piece. My neighbor who's a mechanic will put them on for $60. So pretty soon no more bouncing or bumps.

Hey, thabanga, how are you and your Aspen? I need shocks, too, and will be ordering some Bilsteins next week.

Default got em in

Installed the Bilsteins - much improved ride, especially on the highway. Wheel not bouncing out of your hands.

You'll need an 18 mm wrench/socket and 15 mm wrench/socket and some good penetrating oil.

Took about an hour to do all 4, it's a moderatly easy job - just don't break or strip any bolts.
