Default Throwing a code- need help

I just purchased a 2008 Chrysler Aspen Limited from Carmax. Love the vehicle but last night I got a code U0151. I tried to clear it with my OBD reader but it would not clear. Researched the code and it has to do with: Lost communication with occupant restraint controller module. Can someone help me here? I drove the SUV for a week with no issues. thanks, Hank

for such a system u will need to have a more powerful scanner hooked up to it to see what the real issue is.

Comm codes do not set a check engine lamp........And Unless the "AIRBAG" lamp is on, I wouldnt worry about it.....

I have seen several instances where OBDII equipment can "INDUCE" such codes based on the "Protocol " used in the tool. If you arent experiencing anything abnormal,Stop looking for problems, and put the reader away until you need it.

Default Airbag Deploy

Djinn, thanks for your reply. My Airbag light is illuminated which is why I feel I cannot ignore it. Got kids riding in the vehicle...Carmax has told me they are going to pay for the work which is great. I hope they do. Going to the dealer on this Friday.

Now thats a different story, by all means, you have an issue, and you are correct to have it addressed.

I was under the impression that there were NO ISSUES with the vehicle...and In a case like that, Plugging in a scantool, Just for the sake of Plugging in a scantool is asking for an opened worm-can...

My apologies for the misunderstanding....
