Default Water Leak Passenger A post

I have an 08 aspen that I bought used. When I got the car there was a problem with the molding that covers the air bag on the A post. It had come off or been damaged and was being held in place by a drywall screw. I had that repaired before we took possession of the car.

Well its been 6 months and now we have a water leak that appears to be coming from the same area. The water comes in and shows itself coming out the bottom bolt hole on the A post molding and it drips down from under the dash in the same area ending up on the floor.

I started by cleaning out the weather striping above the door. There was a lot of dirt and leaves in that area and I thought maybe the lack of drainage may be allowing the water to get in. It kept leaking.

Next I took off the plastic piece that is on the car body A post next to the windshield. There is 4 screws that hold it on and a couple werent very secure so I put silicone around an area of the windshield and in the screw hold that I though may be letting the water in to no avail it is still leaking.

Any ideas on how to go about finding where the water is coming in?

Thanks

I will try and add pics to make it easier to see what and where.

Do you have a sunroof ?

Most cars nowadays have either 2 or 4 drain tube. Two of which follow the A pillars. Maybe the one on the side of your leak has a hole or something.

Just thinking out loud...

I took care of my water problem by cleaning both of the drains and boy were they clogged.

Thanks
