05 pacifica oil light
I have just recently bought a 05 pacifica and for some reason the oil light keeps popping on. I noticed that when I turn the car off and then back on the light goes away. Has anyone else had the same problem or any idea on what it could be or could do. I have checked the oil and everything is fine. The oil was recently changed so not sure if there was a different oil used that may be causing it to click on.

I assume This would be a 3.5 V6???
First step...replace the sending unit.....
As for Different oil......Ummmm....(pause.) ....MAYBE....But you would undoutedly develop valvetrain noise before sufficient loss of oil pressure to trip a warning....
ALWAYS FOLLOW THJE RECOMMENDATION ON THE FILLER CAP............... If the shop cannot provide the proper weight oil for your application...then FIND ANOTHER SHOP......Look at the cap yourself, Know what your car needs, and insist on it when having the vehicle serviced.....If they cannot, or refuse to accomodate youyr needs....FIND another SHOP.....
Notice a pattern????
