New to forum and first post SORRY but i need HELP!
05 PAC front wheel drive... leaking oil out of transaxle rear cover not pan,
seems like a easy fix take cover off and clean add atv/rtv and reinstall
Question is the oil different than whats in the pan (atf4) smells like the same stuff :confused: any help would be greatly appreciated

All Chrysler products after 2000, (Actually even earlier, not sure of the year but in your case it doesnt matter anyway) use ATF+4 exclusively in their Automatic transmissions. The one exception, would be the Chrysler/Dodge models with a CVT trans...(Once again, no matter to you.). Using ANYTHING ELSE is a recipe for disaster.

Take a look back a few threads, this was just discussed not long ago. As long as you can without a doubt verify a cover leak, and the case is not cracked, RTV is used to reseal the cover, and call it a day.

Oops, I misunderstood.... There is no "Gear case Oil"...its integral with the trans. Filling the transmission, also fills the gear case. There is no seperate fill location. Just top-off the trans fluid in the usual way when you are through.
