06 Pacifica 3.5L Extreme high engine surging after Water pump/Timing belt change
Hello everyone and thanks for all the help many of you have provided to get me this far. Recently replaced Water Pump, Timing Belt, valve cover gasket and spark plugs on 06 3.5L Pacifica. After reaasembly the car ran perfect for about 10 minutes. Was going to take it for test drive and upon putting car in reverse I heard a slight "clunking" sound. I placed the car in park and then cycled back down to drive and immediately the rpms surged to 3000ish, almost putting me into the back of my garage. Now the car is stuck in this high rpm surging upon start up. Have searched multiple times for vacuum leaks at EGR tube, brake booster, cruise control and for unplugged sensors all to no avail. Other attempts of reseating air intake have produced no positive results. With my hand or a softball over the throttle body the car will settle down and idle nicely at about 1000 rpms until I cover all the vacuum lines, then it will die. It will not start with the throttle body completely covered. IAC appears to be working and I replaced the MAP sensor and intake gasket and PCV valve. Only codes I'm getting are P0113, P0038, and occasionally P0068. I'm NOT a mechanic but have successfully followed many a Youtuber thru some similar projects on various makes of vehicles. This one has me completely stumped. I want to believe this is a vacuum leak but I sure can't find it. ANY help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
