i have a 06 pacifica fwd and the speedometer is reading 90mph when im actually going 60mph.Checked the trans to see if any wiring was lose but no luck everything looked good. Car has stock tire size and trans has not been touch. No check engine light or anything. Any ideas what could be wrong???? Thanks

i have had this car since new just recently came up with this problem. Just cant think of anything that could cause that. i know different size tires, gears, or tranny speedometer gear could cause that. Could it be something with the computer?

Did you check and see if anyone changed the readout to km/hr from mph?

I know this may sound "disconnected" but this same issue occurred with my 2008 PAC. The cause (for me) was due to my alternator failing. When the alternator is failing, the electronic sensors begin to go haywire because of "voltage cycling" across the PCM board. It starts with the funky speedometer reading. Have your alternator checked. Once I replaced mine all my electronic gremlins went away. BTW I replaced my alternator (and battery) with a more heavy-duty model. Its been 3 years and no electronic gremlins. Just my 2 cents
