2004 Pacifica, headlight sensor issue...
My headlights have been acting funny ever since I changed the bulbs. They work as normal when the car is running with dim to dark conditions, and they're unpredictable at all other times. There have been instances during the day when I see my lights flashing in the reflection in the car ahead of me at a stop light. There have been instances when the car is off in the driveway that my lights just come on. Sometimes they flash. Sometimes they come one and stay on. Sometimes when I turn off my car at night, they don't turn off, and even though the lights are in Auto, the car beeps like my lights are still on.
Earlier in the week, I went out to my car about 8am, and the lights were on. I can't assume they were on all night, but I can't assume they weren't either. The car started as normal. This morning, I went out to my car at 10am, and the car is dead. I'm assuming the lights were on all night.
Battery is four months old. This light issue is just a few weeks old.
Ok...what's the skinny on the sensor? Where is it? How did I screw it up? I don't mind actually turning the lights on and off with the switch, but after years (my 1982 Saab 900 had automatic lights) of automatic lights it's a hard habit to break. (Cue Chicago)
