Default 2006 Pacifica Rear Speaker Issue

I am having a problem with the passengers side rear speaker (the big one in the bottom of the door) in my 2006 Pacifica. The sound goes in and out and when it is on the sound is all crackling. I have replaced the speaker with another OEM speaker and it does the same thing. When I took out the original speaker it wasn't blown and I couldn't see anything wrong with it. I am trying to find out what could be causing the sound to crackle and cut out. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. Thanks!

I am still having this issue. No sound comes out of the speaker unless I turn the volume loud and then the sound is crackling. Can't figure out what the problem is.

Hi most likely a broken wire in door opening area try wiggling wire while playing music on that speaker might find your problem .

i would bet money on it having a melted coil. sometimes when speakers overheat, the metal coil of wire in the center of the cone will actually melt, which prevents the cone from moving smoothly. the actual cone would look fine, but if you push on the cone, you'll feel it scratching against something. if this is the case, just replace the speaker.

looks like the oem ones are NLA:

Speakers and Related Items. Fits: 2006 Chrysler Pacifica Limited AWD, 3.5L V6 24V MPI, 4-Speed Automatic | Chrysler Parts Overstock

however, plenty of aftermarket options are available. either try crutchfield.com or go to your local speaker store. they'll be able to point you in the right direction.

hope this helps!

also, forgot to mention in the above post that the root of your problem is probably a bad head unit or amp, which are sending too much distortion to the speaker and causing the coil to melt. do you have an aftermarket head unit or amp installed in the car?
