Why would ANYTHING not be covered under warranty on a 1-2 year old car? How many miles do you have on it? I'm certainly thinking the bumper-to-bumper coverage would kick in on that. Try another dealer.

A Ford warranty?

Anyway it doesn't matter if you buy used - the manufacturer's warranty is fully transferable until you are over the year or mileage limits. They look it up by your VIN so you don't need any special paperwork for it. I believe the bumper-to-bumper warranty is at least 3 years / 36k miles. Drivetrain (engine and transmission) is at least 7 years / 70k miles. I say "at least" because some folks buy extended coverage when purchased new.

What are the limits of the extended warranty you bought, and is it through Chrysler or a 3rd-party company?

I will again recommend that you try another Chrysler dealer (don't tell them you've been to one already), because different service departments will treat you differently. All service managers have discretion on some repairs, and may cover them out of warranty. Go direct with the service manager if you can, and be as polite and detailed as you can (even if you are furious on the inside). Be prepared to still be told "no" but it's worth a shot.
